INJURY

I have been very limited due to my hip and foot.  I am doing core work and NO RUNNING. It is very frustrating!! I will be Ecycling two times per week and I hope this keeps my endurance up!!!

ECYCLING

I have been taking ecycling classes two times per week.  It is a great low impact intense workout.  I am going to take a lactate/VO2 Max test next week before I begin my second 8 week block of ecycling.

As I am trying to deal with my plantar faciatis and cut back on my running the classes will help me maintain my endurance.

OFF SEASON TRAINING

Well I finally made it to off season after six months of injury!! I am going to focus the next 90 days on core strength and continue ecycling!!

I will bring my running down to 3 days a week and lower the volumn so I have time to heal myself.

San Jose Half Marathon

After battling injury for the last 90 days I fought back and had a decent half marathon. I completed the course in 1:43:24 which is a 7:57 pace.  Not nearly as good as last year but I was unable to put in the distance. 

I am going to focus on buliding my strenght back and set myself up for a great next season.

TESTING/SJ HALF

The SJ Half is two days away and unfortunately due to the last several months of injuries I am not going to break any PB!!!!  I am going to use this a good long run and end of my racing season.

I am going to start to do a great deal of core work and stretching and prepare for next season.

I just had my lactate threshold tested and was pretty suprised I did not lose as much fitness as I thought due to my inconsistent training!!!

I am focused an 100% recovery and a strong next season.

GREAT RUN

Yesterday was my best run in almost two months.  I ran 5 miles @ 7:37 pace.  I have two long runs planned for this weekend and depending on how I feel I will decide if I am going to run the San Jose Half Marathon on Sunday, October 14th!!!

It feels great to run “almost” pain free!!!!

Increasing The Distance

I did a 10 mile run this weekend and was almost painfree.  I still have soreness in my hip!!!  I am deciding whether to run the San Jose Half Marathon which is two weeks away.

I will see how I am feeling mid week and decide.
